I'm back! Miss me?
After all the xmas and new year's hubub, I always find that I want order. I want to get rid of stuff... and I want to see some other colors besides red, green and the like.
Picking up the new Martha Stewart Weddings was just what I needed.
The issue is all about COLOR! Bright, clean, gorgeous COLOR!
And one of the things that incorporated a bit of everything I love were these vases.
These are square/rectangle clear glass vases, covered in vellum.
I heart stripes. Always have, always will.
And I love vellum. Even though vellum is delicate, it's inexpensive, creates a great look and is changed out easily.
Never printed on vellum?
Be careful. It smudges horribly. So you have to let it thoroughly dry before placing it.
Think about upcoming Valentine's Day. You could print hearts and other love motifs on vellum!
Vases. Walmart carries these vases for much cheaper than most places. No need to invest in the Pottery Barn stuff, when Walmart has the exact same stuff. Put your $ elsewhere, like into some nice flowers or candles for INSIDE the vases.
i love this idea!! so much more up my alley than her fabric covers that are similar. so, if i'm understanding right the stripes are just printed onto the vellum? wouldn't it be cool to add monograms or other funky designs - maybe on top of a wide stripe band? this has awesome creative potential! thanks for sharing.

Love the post! I totally see using vinyl stickers or stickers that are made for scrapbook pages, that are 12" widths.
For Halloween, I wrapped round candleholders with vellum, then hot-glued plastic bugs onto the vellum. The shadows that were cast were cool. You could do the same with other seasonal objects, cut out tissue paper hearts for Valentine's Day, etc.
