So you're hosting a fall dinner.
This is a time of year where decorations are naturally bountiful! I mean, really, even the pilgrims knew it. LOL
During this time of year, I really enjoy taking advantage of all the natural decorations you can pick up cheaply at pumpkin farms, roadside stands, etc.
Corn stalks. Not just for decorating your porch. Bring them inside! Use them to fill up a corner or to frame a doorway with white lights. In the photo here, I lucked out and found a corn stalk that still had ears attached. Beautiful husks and indian corn still attached to the stalk! Score! I had a large corner to fill and after I placed the stalk, I realized it needed something else. I dropped into Hobby Lobby and picked up a couple extra large, feather type stalks. (Don't know the exact name for them.) They draped beautifully and really helped fill up the space! A final touch with a large piece of rich chocolate brown satin fabric as a sash.
For the table, I bought inexpensive gauzy shimmery fabric and covered inexpensive Walmart vases.
Plates were in two different patterns with a similar color palette. Both sets of circular plates were placed on square chargers.
The table looks like a lot more work than it actually was. You just take what you have and play around with it. There's no right or wrong!
Start planning your Thanksgiving table now!
looks great. I totally agree, absolutely bring nature inside! My sister and I call it "going on a nature hike" that is code for- I need some flowers or greenary...let's see what is in the back yard)

I just read on another blog about an idea to celebrate the start of each season with a small party. How perfect would this decor be for it! I love it.
