Of course, you've read that I'm headed to BlogHer this week! A conference with over 1,000 bloggers means you have to have a LOT Of marketing materials - business cards and the like.
Some of my twitter friends have joked with me that I'm old school because I love paper products. I can't help it. I love stationary and even business cards. I love looking at other people's business cards, their design, etc.
I have fabulous new business cards. See?
These were designed by Jennifer of Nounces Designs. Remember her? She
one upped me on my airplane birthday party invitations? LOL Well,
Jennifer put together these cards for me and she's the person to go to
for cute graphic work.
And there's plenty more... rack cards, 3 different styles of postcards, signage, etc.
Of course, BlogHer is a haven for technologically minded females (and males) and so there will be a lot of POKEN going on. LOL Sounds obscene, right? Well, POKEN is the newest way of sharing business information. It's a gadget business card, if you will.
They are super cute, mini gadgets. This is the panda poken:
They come in many many characters.
And here's how it works.
The little poken has a "hand" that is a usb device. You load your information onto it.
When you meet someone you want to exchange information with, and they also have a poken, you touch your poken hands together for 1-2 seconds to swap information. The palms of the hands will flash when the swap is complete.
That's it. When you are finished, you can plug your poken back into your computer and see all your saved information. It's a electronic business card file.
Still want more info or want to see how it works? My friend Fiona has this super cute video which is way more fun to watch than anything I could write!
The fine folks of Start Poken are gently nudging me into this century by giving me a poken! Sure, I'll still have my old school cards, but I'll also be trying out and probably getting addicted to, the poken!
Want to try the poken too?
Enjoy a 20% off discount on a poken by using the code SP20 when you order at Start Poken.
Happy Poking!
I agree that I love the old school paper products, but how can you resist the cute little Poken! That is the first time I have seen that gadget...thank for introducing it to us!
