In looking at the David Stark Collection on the West Elm website, I ran across this photo. Interesting, modern concept for a whimsical, instant tree.
I love the concept. While this photo shows a painted tree, a tree could very easily be created on a wall in removable electrical tape, painter's tape, etc. In whatever color you like. Add some 3D effects like a tacked on garland shown above or a tree topper.
This is perfect for those that don't want the fuss of putting up a full tree or maybe travel frequently and don't feel it's worth getting out all the hubbub only to enjoy the tree a few days, etc.
On Etsy, there are even large vinyl trees available. Very cute!
These don't have to take the place of a regular tree. Put up your traditional tree and then maybe put one of these in another room, like a child's room or a bathroom. Add it as a backdrop to a buffett table for some easy decor.
And wouldn't it be great to pile presents "under" the tree?
Very cute. I actually made one out of Christmas paper & a foil star one year because we were so broke we couldn't afford a tree. It looked great though. I may make one for my Kid's rooms this year.
