A reusable "stocking"

I'm having a hard time with a stocking this year.  This is the first year my son will really "get" Santa Claus so this will be his first stocking experience.  I've looked and looked at stockings and can't find one that a) I like and b) isn't either too small or HUGE.

I'm liking the idea of a tote bag. While I don't plan on putting a huge amount of items in a stocking, a tote bag gives me the space for odd and larger shaped items.  Plus, the bag can be used later.  Use some felt letter stickers or iron on letters to personalize.
